Rear Crossmember Bushing

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle with suspension and tires hanging free.
2. Position suitable jack under control arm and raise enough to support control arm against downward pressure of coil spring. Ensure control arm is securely supported before removing bushing to body attaching bolt.
3. Remove crossmember bushing to body attaching bolt, Fig. 4.
4. Remove bushing guide plate attaching bolts and the guide plate.
5. Carefully lower crossmember to provide clearance for bushing removal and installation tools.

INSTALLATION

1. Lubricate replacement bushing with suitable non-petroleum lubricant.
2. Install crossmember bushing, Fig. 6.
3. Carefully raise crossmember into position.
4. Position bushing guide plate and install attaching bolts, torquing to 30-37 ft. lbs.
5. Install bushing to body attaching bolt and washer, torquing bolt to 59-74 ft. lbs.
