LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987-88 MERCURY, LINCOLN TOWN CAR

ISSUE: Poor appearance of instrument panel lower sound insulators may result over time from normal wear.

ACTION: To correct this, install new improved lower sound insulator panels made with higher quality materials. Refer to the following application chart for the correct part application.

1. Remove rivets and push-on nuts that hold the instrument panel lower sound insulators to bottom of panel, both right and left hand.

2. Remove and throw away both of the old insulators.

3. Obtain new instrument panel lower sound insulators.


4. Replace any broken, or missing, rivets (N804570-S) and push-on nuts (390570-S).

5. Install both right hand and left hand insulators.
