ISSUE: The transmission mainshaft/output shaft used in the Hummer 5-speed for Merkur XR4Ti was revised effective with transmissions built after 10/01/85.

ACTION: Repairs to transmission built prior to this date that require a new output shaft, must be serviced with a kit which includes an output shaft, 3-4 synchronizer assembly and a 5th gear synchronizer hub. The kit part number is E6RY-7061-B.

NOTE: The new 3-4 synchronizer and 5th gear synchronizer hub are serviced individually and can be used on both levels of output shafts for service.
