LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987 LYNX, TOPAZ, COUGAR, MARK VII, CONTINENTAL
ISSUE: A new solid hub design blower motor wheel has been released to replace the old split hub design. The new solid hub blower motor wheel is held in place with a push nut instead of the spring clip which is used on the split hub design.
ACTION: If service is required, use the new solid hub blower motor wheel and push nut. Refer to the following service information for removal and installation procedures.
1. Remove the blower motor and wheel assembly from the blower motor housing.
2. Remove the spring clip and remove the split hub wheel from the motor shaft.
3. Install the new solid hub wheel (E7SZ-19834-A) onto the motor shaft.
4. Install the new push nut, included with the new solid hub wheel. Make sure the push nut is snug against the wheel hub.
5. Install the blower motor and wheel assembly in the blower motor housing.
