ISSUE: A recall campaign modification for 3.8L Thunderbird/Cougar vehicles with calibration code 7-16A-R00 may generate an Engine Running Service Code 45 each time the EEC Self-Test is run. Functional Check Step 7a on Page 3-14 of the 1987 Thunderbird/Cougar Shop Manual has been revised to include service information on this condition.
