Incorrect test results will occur when using the Rotunda essential tool 014-00737 for diagnosis of the AXOD transaxle unless it is modified per instructions below.
The test adaptor must be reworked, prior to use, as follows:
1. Slide the red terminal retainer out of the connector.
2. Remove friction tape from connector end of adaptor to ease identification and removal of wires.
NOTE: Remove each wire from the connector as follows:
^ Hold the wire at the rear of the connector and pull slightly with thumb and finger.
^ With a small pointed object (i.e., pocket knife) insert into the center of the connector and pry the wire terminal retention tabs toward the center of the connector.
^ Continue to pull each wire until it is completely out of the connector assembly.
Figure 15:
^ Reinstall each wire as shown in Figure 15 making sure that wire terminal retention tabs have locked each wire.
^ Install the red terminal retainer making sure it is flush with the end of the connector.
^ Replace the friction tape on the connector end of the adaptor.
