4. On models equipped with manual transaxle, remove roll restrictor.
5. Remove starter from engine.
6. Disconnect exhaust pipe from oil pan.
7. Remove engine coolant tube located at the lower radiator hose, at the water pump and from tabs on oil pan. On models equipped with A/C, position A/C line off to side.
8. Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan, Fig. 10, from engine.
9. Clean oil pan and cylinder block surfaces with DuPont Freon TF or equivalent.
10. Remove oil pump screen and pickup tube and clean thoroughly, then reinstall.

Installation
Reverse steps 1-9 to assemble, noting the following:
Torque oil pan-to-transaxle attaching bolts to 30---39 ft. lbs. to align oil pan, then loosen bolts {1-2} turn. Tighten oil pan-to-cylinder block attaching bolts to 6---9 ft. lbs., then the oil pan-to-transaxle attaching bolts to 30---39 ft. lbs.
NOTE:Always use RTV any time service to the oil pan is required. DO NOT install a new molded rubber oil pan gasket, use RTV sealer E8AZ-19562-A (5 fl. oz.).
CAUTION: Use adequate ventilation when applying sealer.
NOTE: Applying RTV in excess of the specified amount will not improve the sealing of the oil pan, and could cause the oil pickup screen to become plugged with RTV Immediately (within 5 min.) install oil pan against cylinder block to prevent RTV from skinning over. RTV needs to cure completely before coming in contact with any engine oil, about one (1) hour cure time at (65-75~F) ambient temp.
