Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fig. 22 Injector O-ring location:

1. Perform steps 1 through 19 under ``Fuel Supply Manifold'' replace procedure.
2. Carefully pull fuel supply manifold away from injectors.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from injector(s).
4. Remove injector(s) by grasping injector body and pulling up while gently rocking injector from side to side.
5. Inspect injector O-rings, Fig. 22, for signs of deterioration, replacing as necessary.
6. Inspect injector ``plastic hat'' (covering injector pintle) and washer for signs of deterioration, replacing as necessary. If plastic hat is missing, look for it in lower intake manifold.
7. Reverse procedure to install, lubricating O-rings with suitable oil.
