Quick Test Steps

Quick test steps are as follows:
1. Visual check and vehicle preparation. Check system for obvious faults or malfunctions. Properly prepare vehicle for system test.
2. Equipment hookup. Ensure that the proper equipment for gathering test data is ready prior to testing this system.
3. Key-ON, Engine-OFF Self-Test. This step checks the processor inputs against calibrated sensor values.
4. Computed Timing Check, verifies the system's ability to compute and maintain engine timing in the self-test.
5. Engine Running Self-Test. Checks sensors and actuators under operating conditions.
6. Continuous Self-Test. Checks the sensor inputs for opens and/or shorts while the vehicle is in operation.
