Valve Cover: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Loosen clamp on PCV hose at oil separator on valve cover and disconnect hose.
3. Disconnect coolant hose that passes over rear of rocker arm cover.
4. Remove coolant pipes retaining clip screw from right front side of rocker arm cover.
5. Remove throttle body.
6. Disconnect spark plug wires at spark plugs and at rocker arm cover studs, folding wires toward distributor.
7. Remove valve cover retaining screws and studs, then the cover and gasket.
8. Reverse procedure to install, torquing studs and bolts to 5-8 ft. lbs.
