1. Support engine using a suitable jack and wooden block placed under oil pan.
2. On LTD and Marquis models, remove bolt securing lower end of engine damper to No. 2 crossmember bracket, Fig. 1.
3. On turbocharged engine, remove through bolts attaching both insulators to No. 2 crossmember bracket.
4. On all models, remove nuts and washers attaching both insulators to No. 2 crossmember.
5. Disconnect shift linkage, then raise engine just enough to disengage insulator from crossmember bracket.
6. Remove insulator and bracket attaching bolts, then the insulator and bracket assembly, Figs. 1, 2 and 3.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

1. Support engine using a suitable jack and wooden block placed under oil pan.
2. Remove fuel pump shield attaching screw, if equipped, from lefthand engine support bracket.
3. On LTD and Marquis models, remove bolt securing lower end of engine damper to No. 2 crossmember bracket, Fig. 4.
4. On Cougar and Thunderbird models, remove through bolts from bottom of mounts, Fig. 5.
5. Remove nuts and washers attaching both insulators to No. 2 crossmember.
6. Raise engine just enough to clear insulator studs from crossmember.
7. Remove insulator and bracket attaching bolts, then the insulator and bracket assembly from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
