A Properly Adjusted Door Glass

Figure 75:

If the door weatherstrip kit was not installed, the door glass will have to be adjusted to fit the contour of the existing weatherstrip. The weatherstrip may have taken a set that matches the shape of the glass and any minor adjustments should be kept within the shape of this set.

Figure 76:

If the up-stop and in/out tilt are properly adjusted, the door glass will enter the weatherstrip contour, the weatherstrip will fold over the top and forward edge of the glass to form a seal.

Figure 77:

Here's a tip. If the door glass is properly adjusted, the corner of the glass will make contact with the weatherstrip just as the door latch mechanism contacts the door striker.

With the door glass in the full up position, slowly close the door. When the corner of the glass touches the weatherstrip, a "click" will be heard as the door latch contacts the door striker.
