Fuel Charging Assembly

Removal
1. Remove air tube clamp from fuel charging assembly air inlet.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from inertia switch in luggage compartment.
3. Crank engine for 15 seconds to release fuel system pressure.
4. Disconnect throttle cable and throttle valve lever, if equipped, from fuel charging assembly.
5. Disconnect fuel, vacuum and electrical connections from fuel charging assembly.
6. Remove two fuel charging assembly retaining nuts and the assembly.
7. Remove and discard mounting gasket from intake manifold.
Installation
1. Clean mating surfaces and position new gasket on intake manifold.
2. Position fuel charging assembly on manifold, then install retaining nuts and torque to 14---16 ft. lbs.
3. Reconnect fuel lines, electrical connectors and vacuum lines.
4. Install air tube and clamp, then start engine and check for leaks. Adjust engine idle speed if necessary.
