ROCKER ARM COVER GASKET:

1985 1/2 ESCORT AND LYNX ROCKER ARM COVER GASKET


TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

Locate the gasket tab on the rocker arm cover gasket in area above distributor. Refer to Attachment IV.


- If the part identification number on the gasket tab is S11-6*-F31 or F32, the gasket does not require replacement. However, if the gasket is split or leaking at the time of the inspection, it must be replaced.

- If the gasket part identification number is other than S11-6*-F31 or F32, replace the gasket even if it is not split or leaking. Refer to Section 21-27-11 of the 1985 1/2 Car Shop Manual Supplement for the replacement procedures.

* Manufacturers mold number (date) will vary. However, F31 or F32 are the critical numbers. If the number on the gasket does not have F31 or F32 at the end, the gasket must be replaced.
