2.Feature Strip Bow, Retainer and Cap Replacement

Removal

1. Cover deck lid of vehicle to protect painted surfaces and backlite glass.

2. Remove retaining screw from each feature strip cap and remove cap from top (Figure 2).
3. Starting at either end of feature strip bow, grasp feature strip bow and pull toward you to side of retainer.
4. Remove existing adhesive from retainer using a cloth or rag dampened with solvent (Dietzler #440 or equivalent grease and wax remover).

NOTE: Do not leave damp rag or cloth laying on top because material can discolor.

5. Using a #29 (.136") drill bit with an adjustable stop set at a maximum drilling depth of 3/8", drill out all
(11) exposed pop rivets from feature strip retainer and remove retainers from car.

Installation

1. Before installing new feature strip retainer, seal (11) open rivet holes with sealant.
2. Position new feature strip retainer on vinyl top and attach retainer to bonnet assembly with (11) rivets part #X-0050-0242-XXXX.
3. Apply bead of adhesive (Cyno/Lote) across entire width of retainer.
4. Starting at center, roll bow feature strip onto retainer.
5. Trim ends of feature strip bow.

6. Install feature cap to each end of bow using screws (Figure 2).
7. Remove all protective covers.
