With Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC)

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove four instrument panel lower trim cover attaching screws, then remove trim cover.

3. Remove steering column shroud.
4. Remove six instrument cluster trim panel attaching screws, then remove trim panel.
5. Remove four instrument cluster to instrument panel attaching screws.
6. Remove screw attaching transmission indicator cable bracket to steering column, then detach cable loop from pin on steering column.
7. Carefully pull cluster assembly away from instrument panel.
8. Disconnect speedometer cable by pressing on flat surface of plastic connector.
9. Disconnect the cluster feed plug and ground wire from cluster back plate, then remove cluster assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply a 3/16 inch diameter ball of D7AZ-19A3331-A or equivalent silicone lubricant in the drive hole of the speedometer head.
2. Position the cluster to the instrument panel after connecting the feed plug and ground connector to their receptacle in cluster backplate.
3. Align the speedometer cable connector with the speedometer adaptor and push the speedometer cable on the speedometer with a twisting motion until the catch is engaged.
4. Attach the instrument cluster to instrument panel with four screws.
5. Install the plastic cable clamp around the steering column and engage the clamp locator pin in slot in the column tube. Drive the clamp screw into the retaining clip, but do not seat.
6. Place the loop of the transmission indicator cable over the shift cane lever.
7. Place the transmission selector in the DRIVE position.
8. Rotate the cable clamp about the column tube until the indicator flag covers both calibration dots completely. Tighten the clamp screw to 10-20 lbs in (1.1-2.3 Nm).
9. Move the lever through all shift positions and check indicator flag location. The flag must cover the nomenclature identifying the position with no flag overlap onto the adjoining graphics.
10. Install the steering column cover and the lower instrument panel trim cover with five retaining screws.
11. Install the instrument cluster trim panel with six attaching screws.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
