Door Glass Guide

1. With the glass in the full up position, use a grease pencil and mark a line on the outside of the door glass the full length of the belt line moulding.

This mark will serve as a reference point during the adjustment procedures.

Remove the door trim panel and water shield.
If necessary, refer to Section 47-04 in the appropriate Car Shop Manual.

2. Remove the interior bezel from the mirror remote control.

3. Pull the weatherstrip out of its retainer and pull it up to remove it from the door glass guide.

Loosen lower track guide nut to allow clearance for removing the weatherstrip.

4. Remove the weatherstrip retainer attaching rivet using a 1/8 inch drill.

5. Disengage the weatherstrip from the mirror tab and remove the retainer. Discard the weatherstrip retainer.

6. Apply a small amount of silicone lube (COAZ- 19553-A) to the lower 3 inches of the weatherstrip and feed it into the guide channel.

7. Peel the protective paper from the weatherstrip retainer and position it on the door.

8. Make sure the weatherstrip retainer is positioned under the beltline moulding and seated on the top of the "A" post stub.

9. Raise the weatherstrip flap and drill a 1/8 inch hole through the weatherstrip retainer and door panel.

Use the dimple on the weatherstrip retainer as a hole locator.

10. Attach the weatherstrip to the door panel using a 1/8 inch pop rivet.
11. Tighten lower channel attaching nut.

12. Apply a 1/4 inch bead of Weatherstrip Adhesive, COAZ-19552-A, along the inside edge of the sail mirror stud.

13. Lower the weatherstrip flap.

Smooth and press the flap into position and install the retaining push pins.

14. Apply a bead of Silicone Rubber Adhesive/ Sealant, D6AZ-19562-B, along the mating edge between the weatherstrip retainer and the weatherstrip flap.

Smooth and contour the sealant bead.
15. Lower the door glass.

16. Drill out the rivets attaching the weatherstrip retainer to the door using a 1/8 inch drill.

17. Pry the weatherstrip out of the guide by pushing towards the front of the door.

Pull the weatherstrip out of the door channel.

18. Using a screwdriver, pry upward on the inside edge of the beltline moulding until the moulding lifts approximately 1/4 inch.

19. Install the replacement weatherstrip in the door glass channel.

20. If necessary because holes don't line up, using the holes in the weatherstrip as a guide, center punch and drill 1/8 inch holes in the door panels.
21. Attach the weatherstrip to the door outer panel using a 1/8 inch small head blank rivet.

22. Attach the weatherstrip to the door side and inner panels using 1/8 inch large head blank rivets.

23. Tap the beltline moulding back into place using a block of wood and plastic tipped hammer.
