Fig. 7--With throttle plates in the wide open position, and pump arm manually depressed, insert a feeler gauge of the specified thickness between operating lever adjustment screw head and pump arm. Adjust clearance as necessary by loosening the lock screw, then turning the adjusting nut while holding the screw. Turn the adjusting nut in to increase clearance or out to decrease clearance. When proper clearance is obtained, hold nut and tighten screw. Note that 1/2 turn of the adjusting nut is equal to approximately .015 inch.
