Choke Pulldown

NOTE: The carburetor must be removed from the vehicle to remove the rivets retaining the choke cap to the choke housing. Using a 1/8 inch or No. 30 drill, remove rivet heads, then drive out rivet using a 1/8 - inch diameter punch.
1. Fig. 8-Remove choke thermostatic housing, retainer ring and screws, then temporarily remove choke thermostatic housing index spacer.
2. Reinstall choke thermostatic housing, retainer and screws.
3. Loosen choke cover screw, rotate housing 90 degrees in the rich direction and tighten screws.
4. Using an external vacuum source, apply sufficient vacuum to retract vacuum diaphragm.
5. Push on small metal plate in the bottom of the linkage slot to ensure that the diaphragm is fully retracted.
6. Insert specified gauge between upper edge of choke valve and air horn wall.
7. Drill a 3/32 inch hole through pull down motor adjusting screw plug, then remove plug using an easy out.
8. Turn adjusting screw inward or outward as necessary.
9. After completing adjustment, install a replacement plug in adjusting screw access hole.
