The transmission TV rod return may be restricted by the rubber hose and nylon fittings protruding from the back of the rubber connector block (-9E455-). This connector block is attached to the 3-port PVS valve, at the rear left hand side of the intake manifold. Potential kinking of the canister purge hose is also possible due to incorrect orientation of the nylon elbow on the rubber block connector.

On a customer concern basis, the following procedure is recommended:

1. Remove the rubber connector block from the 3-port PVS.
2. With an appropriate deep well socket (slotted), rotate the 3-port PVS (located on rear left hand side of intake manifold) clockwise, until the ports are aimed toward the upper rear rocker cover attaching bolt (approximately 15-20~ from original position).

Figure 13:

3. Rotate the middle and lower nylon elbow 180~ from original position. The middle elbow should face the left side of the engine and the lower elbow should face the right side of the engine (Figure 13).
a. Route the middle vacuum hose from the connector block in front of the PVS valve and under the kickdown (TV-rod) rod. The upper and middle hoses should be tucked down (Figure 13).
b. Route the lower vacuum hose to the purge control valve under the kickdown rod (Figure 13).
4. Ensure that any other hoses that are routed in area of kickdown rod (TV rod) are placed under or away from rod to eliminate any potential interference.
