V6-232 W/2150A CARBURETOR

NOTE: If carburetor is equipped with a VOTM/TSP, set A/C-ON RPM prior to adjusting curb idle speed. Refer to Steps 1 through 7 to set A/C-ON RPM. Refer to Tune Up Specifications chart for curb and fast idle speeds.

1. Place transmission into Neutral or Park.
2. Start and allow engine to reach normal operating temperature.
3. Place A/C-Heat selector switch to OFF position.
4. Connect a suitable tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions.
5. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose from VOTM kicker.
6. Connect a suitable vacuum pump onto VOTM kicker.
7. Check and adjust VOTM kicker ON RPM. VOTM ON speed should be 650 RPM, if not turn saddle bracket adjusting screw, Fig. 4, until specified speed is obtained.
8. To check and, if necessary adjust curb idle speed, proceed as follows:
a. Repeat steps 1 through 4, if necessary.
b. Check curb idle speed obtained.
c. If curb idle speed obtained is not as specified, turn saddle bracket adjusting screw, Fig. 5, on except A/C models or hex head screw protruding from rear of the TSP housing, Fig. 4, on A/C models.
9. Place transmission into Neutral or Park.
10. Momentarily increase engine speed and recheck curb idle speed. Adjust, if necessary.
11. Disconnect TSP feed wire electrical connector.
12. Check and, if necessary adjust TSP-OFF speed. TSP-OFF speed should be 450 RPM. If speed obtained is not as specified, turn TSP-OFF adjusting screw, Fig. 5, until specified speed is obtained.
