CARBURETOR - A device which combines air and fuel for burning in cylinders.CARBURETOR FEEDBACK SYSTEM:
CARBURETOR FEEDBACK SYSTEM (2150 CARBURETOR) - A feedback fuel control system which utilizes a pulsing solenoid to introduce fresh air from the air cleaner into the idle and main system vacuum passages to clean the fuel and air mixture from the maximum rich condition to the maximum lean condition. The solenoid operates under the direction of the EEC IV system.
CARBURETOR "ICING" - A term used to describe formation of ice crystals in the carburetor venturi bores.
CARBURETOR THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH:
CARBURETOR THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH (A/C CUTOFF) - A switch assembly used on some carburetors and the 2.0L diesel fuel injection pump to sense a wide open throttle condition. When maximum engine power is required, this switch assembly cuts off the air conditioning compressor to reduce engine loading.
CENTRAL FUEL INJECTION (CFI) - A system using injector(s), computer controlled, spraying fuel into the venturi bores of a throttle body.
CHOKE - Device used on the carburetor to restrict the flow of air into the engine during starting so that a rich mixture of fuel enters the engine. This eases starting and improves cold weather operation.
CHOKE PULLDOWN - A diaphragm assembly mounted on the carburetor which assists in opening the choke after the engine starts and controls the positioning of the choke plate depending upon engine load while the engine is cold.
CHOKE UNLOADER:
CHOKE UNLOADER - Lever on the carburetor attached to the throttle linkage which opens the choke when the throttle is fully opened. The purpose of the unloader is to clear the intake manifold if it receives an excessive amount of fuel during choke operation, preventing flooding.
COLD IDLE - An increased engine idle speed that helps to prevent the engine from stalling when it is cold. Also called "fast idle."
