OIL PAN GASKET (3.8L) - NEW SERVICE GASKET (DELETION OF RTV)

LIGHT TRUCKS 1982-83 F100
A one-piece oil pan gasket is released to service 3.8L engines instead of RTV usage.
1. Remove the oil pan using procedures outlined in Section 21-15 of the 1983 Car Shop Manual.
2. Remove all RTV from the oil pan, pan rail, and rear main bearing cap groove.
3. Install the pan gasket to the pan and the rear pan seal into the rear main bearing cap groove using contact cement. It may be necessary to trim the ends of the rear pan seal to fit the rear bearing cap groove and outside contour.
4. Apply a small bead of RTV to each end of the rear seal at area where the main bearing cap and cylinder block join.
5. Apply E0AZ-19554-A sealer to the oil pan bolt threads and install the oil pan using procedures outlines in the Shop Manual.
