1. Place transmission into Neutral or Park.
2. Install a suitable tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions.
3. Start and allow engine to reach normal operating temperature.
4. Disconnect and plug EGR and purge valve(s) vacuum lines.
5. On feedback carburetor models, disconnect electrical connector from PVS.
6. Disconnect electrical connector from cooling fan, if equipped.
7. Place fast idle adjustment onto second step of fast idle cam, Fig. 19.
8. Check fast idle speed. If fast idle speed obtained is not as specified, turn fast idle speed screw until specified speed is obtained.
