Choke Vacuum Pull-Down

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the carburetor to remove rivets retaining choke cover to choke housing. Using a 1/8 inch or No. 30 drill bit, remove rivet heads, then drive rivet out using a 1/8 inch diameter punch.
1. Fig. 6-Remove the three screws and ring retaining choke spring cover and pull the water cover and/or choke spring cover from carburetor.
2. Place fast idle cam on high step.
3. Push the diaphragm stem back against its stop. Place gauge rod or drill between the lower edge of the choke plate and the air horn wall.
4. Remove the slack from the choke linkage by applying finger pressure to the top edge of the choke plate.
5. Adjust the choke plate-to-air horn clearance by removing the plug from the diaphragm and turning the adjusting screw in or out as required.
