Choke Vacuum Pull-Down

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the carburetor to remove rivets retaining choke cover to choke housing. Using a 1/8 inch or No. 30 drill bit, remove rivet heads, then drive rivet out using a 1/8 inch diameter punch.
1. Remove choke cap, bi-metal heater assembly and plastic shield.
2. Place fast idle speed adjusting screw on top step of fast idle cam.
3. Using a suitable screwdriver, push diaphragm stem back against stop and place specified gauge between lower edge of choke valve and air horn wall, Fig. 4.
4. Remove slack from choke linkage by attaching a rubber band to choke operating lever, Fig. 4.
5. To adjust, rotate vacuum diaphragm adjusting screw as required to obtain proper setting, Fig. 5.
