- SERVICE TIPS FOR INTERNAL SERVICES

The following suggested service procedure may be administered during internal Automatic Transmission servicing to improve performance and durability.
Main Control (Valve Body) - Inspection and Rework
^ 1981-1982 (transaxles built prior to 1/18/82) - Verify that the service as shown in TSB 82-2-14, dated January 29, 1982, has been completed. This TSB instructed the technician to either remove the number 2 check ball from the valve body or drill out the separator plate.
^ 1981-1982 (transaxles built prior to 11/8/82) - Install the improved shift kit or verify installation as instructed in TSB 81-8-7-S1, dated January 29, 1983.
^ 1981-1983 transaxles - Install the revised 1-2 TV modulator valve to service a potential no 1-2 shift condition that may occur during acceleration. TSB 83-7-6, dated April 5, 1983, should be referred to for kit application and service procedures.
Internal Sealing - Inspection/Installation
^ 1981-1983 transaxles - Install seal kit E3FZ- 7F424-A to service a potential 2-3 or 3-2 engine cutloose condition. The instruction sheet included with the kit gives installation procedures and inspections for those components affecting the 2-3 shift function. The kit includes all required seals for the direct clutch, pump support, intermediate clutch and servo.
