Measurement Specification
Engines may be encountered with oversize tappets (all eight) and/or an oversized camshaft. Oversize tappets will be identified by a stamping .254 OT'' on the machined pad below the rocker arm rail and above the No.1 exhaust port. Oversize camshaft will be identified by a stamping .38O/C'' on the cover rail above the No. 4 exhaust port and by stamping .38 O/S'' on the distributor drive end of the camshaft.Camshaft Journal Diameter | - Note: Standard: No. 1, 1.761-1.762 inches; No. 2, 1.771-1.772inches; No. 3,1.781-1.782 inches; No. 4, 1.791-1.792 inches; No. 5, 1.801-1.802inches.
