For customer concerns of any or all of the following.
1. Poor performance and fuel economy.
2. Loading at idle during choke operation.
3. Hard starting after soak.
4. Black smoke out of the tail pipe.
Figure 7:
The altitude compensator (-9A950-) or associated hoses may have been omitted from the specified vehicles. Check if the vehicle is equipped with the compensator and is correctly installed. If not, install the compensator and hoses as shown in Figure 7.
If a vehicle is modified, it is necessary to obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and alterations performed as shown below. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
