Description of Condition and Correction

Some of the vehicles described above as built may not meet Federal hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions standards because they may have a cold weather modulator installed in the air cleaner rather than a temperature vacuum switch.

Ford is voluntarily recalling these vehicles to correct this condition. Dealerships are asked to inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, install a temperature vacuum switch. Service parts should be secured from stock, or may be ordered from your order processing Parts Distribution Center. Please assure that parts are available in your dealership before scheduling vehicles for repair.
