Reason for change
Complaint:
Oil loss in area of rear crankcase - transmission bell housing.

Cause:
Porosity of casting in crankcase or sealing ring of engine oil temperature regulator screw plug
1. Porosity of casting in area of threads of bolted transmission connections
2. Porosity of casting from open bolt holes for cylinder head bolts
3. Insufficient sealing of engine oil temperature regulator

Remedy:
Remove transmission and flywheel or drive plate and establish findings.
1. Porosity of casting in area of threads of bolted transmission connections:
Clean and dry threaded connection area. Apply Loctite 222 (as directed on information label) on the threaded connection and fasten to specs. Let it harden as required.
2. Porosity of casting from open bolt holes for cylinder head bolts:
Create a PTSS case for this situation.
3. Replace sealing ring on engine oil temperature regulator with part N007603 022403 and tighten to 50 Nm (+5 Nm)
