Attachments
Cause:
Casting porosity in crankcase or leaks in oil filter housing (seal might be damaged at the oil filter housing plate)
Remedy:
Remove/install oil filter housing in accordance with AR18.20-P-3471CW
When reinstalled, seal thread using "Loctite 222" and replace molded seal A2711840280
Steps:
1. If the threaded connection is already glued in, re-thread it in crankcase and clean the thread using a wire brush to remove any hardened thread locking agent.
2. Clean/degrease relevant thread in the crankcase and dry thread using compressed air.
3. Coat thread with "Loctite 222" and fasten bolt to specified tightening torque.
4. A hardening time of at least 12 hours (without engine start) must be maintained.
5. Apply tracing powder around affected area.
6. Perform test drive over at least 12 miles
7. Check leak tightness.
Note:
If sealing the bolts did not achieve the intended purpose, the leakage is probably down to the oil filter housing. In this case, it has to be replaced. The bolts must be glued in again.
