Complaint:
1. Door trim getting loose in the area of the window channel above the inside door release.
2. Door trim getting loose in the area of the release button.
Cause:
Clamping force of door lining on door shell too low
Remedy:
Remedy up to VIN end no.: 010289
1. Remove door lining and inner channel seal.
2. The dust shield seal on the side with the complaint should also be replaced.
Note:
Position dust shield seal on the mirror triangle and mount from end of door (flange).
3. Fix plastic shim (inside diameter 8.4 mm, outside diameter 10 - 16 mm, thickness 3 mm) under bolt bracket of inside door release shell with the aid of double-sided adhesive tape, see Figure 1 Alternatively the plastic washers specified below can be ordered.
4. Cut felt underlay into two pieces of approx. 8x25x2 for felt underlay (a) and approx. 30x25x2 for felt underlay (b).
5. Glue felt underlay (a) onto bodyshell flange, see Figure 2.
6. Glue felt underlay (b) over felt underlay (a), see Figure 3.
7. Detach door lining bracket.
8. Clamp bracket in a vice (c) together with an auxiliary plate (c).
9. Bend bracket by hand over the bending axis (e), see Figure 4, to the dimension =10 mm (without additional tools), see Figure 5.
10. Check reference dimension (f) = 30 mm, see Figure 5; adjust if necessary.
11. Screw bracket onto door lining finger-tight.
12. Attach door lining.
Note:
Make sure that the Bowden cable for the inside door opener is correctly clipped into place.
13. Perform function test by closing the door firmly (5 times).
Note:
If the complaint persists, the door panel (basic carrier) must be replaced (in this case the steps 4-13 must be repeated).
