GF91.60-P-4080RD Supplemental Restraint System Control Unit, Component Description

GF91.60-P-4080RD Supplemental Restraint System Control Unit, Component Description
MODEL 172.4

N2/10 Supplemental restraint system control unit

Location
The Supplemental Restraint System control unit is located on the center tunnel.

Task
The Supplemental Restraint System control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Seat occupied recognition LIN (LIN E2)

Direct line
The signals from the following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Engine hood switch pedestrian protection + ATA Hall sensor (A38/1) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Left sidebag sensor (A53)
- Right sidebag sensor (A54)
- Left frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1)
- Right frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)
- Left door pressure sensor (B48/7)
- Right door pressure sensor (B48/8)
- Pedestrian protection Hall sensor (B100) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Left front bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Center front bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/2) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Right front bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Driver seat belt buckle restraint system switch (S68/3)
- Front passenger seat belt buckle restraint system switch (S68/4)

Seat occupied recognition LIN
The supplemental restraint system control unit receives the relevant information from the following components via the seat occupied recognition LIN:
- Front passenger seat occupied recognition and ACSR (B48) (with code (U18) automatic child seat recognition (ACSR))
- Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit (N110) (with code (U10) Front passenger seat with weight sensing)

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Chassis CAN (CAN E)

Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Pyrofuse (F63) (with code (B03) ECO start/stop function)
- Pyrofuse 88 (F32/5f88) (without code (B03) ECO start/stop function)
- Driver emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/1) (Model 172.475 with code (494) USA version)
- Front passenger emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/2) (Model 172.475 with code (494) USA version)
- Front passenger airbag squib 1 (R12/4)
- Front passenger airbag squib 2 (R12/5)
- Driver sidebag squib (R12/9)
- Front passenger sidebag squib (R12/10)
- Driver airbag squib 1 (R12/13)
- Driver airbag squib 2 (R12/14)
- Front passenger kneebag squib (R12/24) (with code (294) Kneebag)
- Driver kneebag squib (R12/25) (with code (294) Kneebag)
- Left headbag squib (R12/39)
- Right headbag squib (R12/40)
- Left rear active engine hood squib (R12/49) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Right rear active engine hood squib (R12/50) (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
- Drive buckle ETR squib (R46)
- Front passenger ETR squib (R46/1)
- Driver seat NECK-PRO head restraint solenoid (Y24/12)
- Front passenger seat NECK-PRO head restraint solenoid (Y24/13)
- Analog crash output to the CDI control unit (N3/9) (for diesel engine) or to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (for gasoline engine)
- Analog crash output to emergency call system control unit (N123/4) (with code (359) TELEAID emergency call system or code (348) Emergency call/Assist system)

Chassis CAN
The signals are sent by the Supplemental Restraint System control unit over the chassis CAN.
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
