1 Route blue line (bl) and brown line (br), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness (13) over center tunnel to installation opening of removed audio component and fix in place with cable ties.
Ensure that the line is long enough in order to later connect the media interface control unit in the center console.
2 Connect round cable lug of brown line (br) to center console ground point (W12).
Carry out operation steps 3 to 5 in vehicles without code (537) Digital radio or without code (810) Sound system.
3 Release lock (14) at black 44-pin coupling (15).
4 Insert contact spring (5) of blue line (bl) into contact cavity 16 (arrow F) of black 44-pin coupling (15).
5 Lock lock (14) at black 44-pin coupling (15).
Carry out operation step 6 in vehicles with code (537) Digital radio or with code (810) Sound system.
6 Connect blue line (bl) to a potential distributor (16) at blue wake-up signal line (17) of vehicle wiring harness.
The blue wake-up signal line (17) of the vehicle wiring harness is located in contact cavity 16 (arrow F) of the black 44-pin coupling (15).
The potential distributor (16) is available in the new passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
7 Lift up floor covering (18) behind driver seat.
8 Route red line (rt), as shown, under floor covering (18) along vehicle wiring harness to cable duct of trunk on left.
9 Fasten red line (rt) under floor covering (18) with felt tape and fix in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable ties.
10 Route red line (rt) into left side of trunk.
Use a pull-through device.
11 Route red line (rt) along vehicle wiring harness (19) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
12 Fix red line (rt) in place on vehicle wiring harness (19) using cable ties.
13 Release catch hooks (arrows A) and remove violet 7-pin fuse carrier (20) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
14 Insert contact of red line (rt) in contact cavity 5 of violet 7-pin fuse carrier (20) and install violet 7-pin fuse carrier (20) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The designation of the individual contact cavities is on the violet 7-pin fuse carrier (20).
15 Insert fuse with a strength of 7.5 amps in slot 5 (arrow B) at violet 7-pin fuse carrier (20).
16 Form loops with extended length of red line (rt) behind rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in place using cable ties.
