GF82.30-P-2003LA Heating Wiper Support, Function

Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 61 ON
^ Outside temperature T < 5 °C

Heated wiper park position, general
The wiper park position heater is used to ensure that the wiper blades are not frozen onto the windshield.

Heated wiper park position function sequence
With the engine running (circuit 61 On) and at an outside temperature of T < 5 °C the wiper park position heater (R2/10) is switched on by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the wiper park position heater relay (N10/1kK).

The wiper park position heater is switched off automatically if one of the conditions below is met:
- Wiper system is not operated within t = 25 min. at a coolant temperature of
T < 70 °C
- Wiper system is not operated within t = 15 min. at a coolant temperature of
T < 70 °C
- Wiper system is not operated within t = 10 min. when the vehicle is at a standstill
t = 10 min. when the vehicle is at a standstill

The coolant temperature is recorded by the coolant temperature sensor (B11/4). The CDI control unit (N3/9) (for diesel engine) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (for gasoline engine) records this signal and places the current value on the chassis CAN. The central gateway control unit (N93) routes the signal from the chassis CAN to the interior CAN, where it is then read in by the front SAM control unit.

The outside temperature is read in via the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14) directly by the front SAM control unit.
