AR41.10-P-0085-05SZ Measure Absolute Angle at Front, Center and Rear Propeller Shaft
AR41.10-P-0085-05SZ Measure Absolute Angle At Front, Center and Rear Propeller Shaft
- 3-piece propshaft
The vehicle must be on its wheels for the measurement.
All five angles should be measured in succession without interruption.
An angle that has already been measured can be measured a second time if required. To do this, with the Measurement menu displayed, press the STEP button repeatedly until the display indicates Ready to measure the relevant angle.
1 Detach left and right exhaust bracket (105a, 105b).
2 Detach crossmember (31).
3 Detach divided heat shields at front (105c) and rear (105d).
Measurement - Angle 2: front propeller shaft
4 Clean contact surface of sensor (020a) on front propeller shaft (1).
5 Position sensor (020a) horizontally on front propeller shaft (1) and press on firmly.
The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect.
If the sensor (020a) on the front propeller shaft (1) is not attached horizontally, the error message "Y-position error, sensor position ??" appears. The measured angle cannot be saved.
The value measured is shown on the display.
6 Press SAVE button. The values are saved.
Measured values screen for angle 2: display e.g. 2.36°
A confirmation message appears briefly.
Confirmation screen
The display then indicates that the device is ready for the next measurement (angle 3).
7 Remove sensor (020a) from front propeller shaft (1).
Ready screen for angle 3
Measure - Angle 3: Center driveshaft section
8 Clean the contact surface of the sensor (020a) at the center propeller shaft (3).
9 Attach the sensor (020a) to the center propeller shaft (3) horizontally and press on firmly.
The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect.
If the sensor (020a) is not attached to the center propeller shaft (3) horizontally, the error message "Y-position error, sensor position ??". The measured angle cannot be saved.
The value measured is shown on the display.
10 Press SAVE button. The values are saved.
Measured values screen for angle 3: display e.g. 2.81°
A confirmation message appears briefly.
Confirmation screen
The display then indicates that the device is ready for the next measurement (angle 4).
11 Remove sensor (020a) from the center propeller shaft (3).
Ready screen for angle 4
Measurement - Angle 4: rear propeller shaft
12 Clean contact surface for adapter for transmission (021) on rear propeller shaft (2).
13 Fit adapter for transmission (021) to rear propeller shaft (2) (magnetic).
14 Align adapter for transmission (021) horizontally in transverse direction using spirit level (021a).
15 Place sensor (020a) on support plate of adapter for transmission (021).
The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect.
The value measured is shown on the display.
16 Press SAVE button. The values are saved.
Measured values screen for angle 4: display e.g. 3.20°
A confirmation message appears briefly.
Confirmation screen
The display then indicates that the device is ready for the next measurement (angle 5).
17 Remove adapter for transmission (021) with sensor (020a) from rear propeller shaft (2).
Ready screen for angle 5
If the articulation angle (2, 3) does not have to be corrected
18 Attach divided heat shields at front (105c) and rear (105d).
19 Install cross member (31).
20 Attach left and right exhaust bracket (105a, 105b).
