AR41.10-P-0086-09SZ Correct Articulation Angle on Propeller Shaft Center Support Bearing
- 3-piece propshaft
Correct the articulation angle (articulation angle 2, articulation angle 3)
For articulation angle correction at the corresponding propeller shaft center support bearing, mount shop-made shims. A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17°.
When using shims greater than 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.
If a shim greater than 5 mm thick is required, check the front engine mount and rear engine mount for signs of settling or wear and replace if necessary.
1 Remove bolts (7a) from the front or bolts (7b) from the rear propeller shaft center support bearing.
2 Insert shop-made shims between the frame floor assembly and propeller shaft center support bearing
The dimension for the shims must be taken from the propeller shaft center support bearing, see following drawing.
3 Screw in bolts (7a) from the front or bolts (7b) from the rear propeller shaft center support bearing.
Example:
Shims (c) between frame floor assembly and propeller shaft center support bearing.
Material: steel or aluminum
4 Attach divided heat shields at front (105c) and rear (105d).
5 Install cross member (31).
6 Attach left and right exhaust bracket (105a, 105b).
