Press out rear axle shaft flange

Component Identification:

1 Press out rear axle shaft flange (3) using extraction and insertion tool 140 589 08 43 00, press out/in tool 220 589 06 43 00, extraction tool 202 589 04 43 00 and a workshop press.

Press in rear axle shaft flange

Component Identification:

2 Position wheel carrier (2), rear axle shaft flange (3), drift (01), sleeve (04) from press out/in tool 220 589 06 43 00, pressure plate (03) and extraction/insertion sleeve (02) from extraction and insertion tool 140 589 08 43 00 on workshop press.

Use suitable horizontal base for support during pressing procedure.

3 Press rear axle shaft flange (3) into wheel carrier (2) by operating workshop press.

The rear axle shaft flange (3) is seated correctly when the pressure indicated on the display of the workshop press increases at a constant rate.
