Check Tire Pressure Monitoring Coding, Update if Necessary
This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG) has determined that the Tire pressure Monitoring Control Unit Coding may not meet current specification in the subject vehicles Dealers will check and if necessary update the Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Unit Coding at the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 4,762 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
Note:
^ Use Xentry 11/11 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in Xentry.
Be sure to perform the following steps in order to ensure a successful control module software update:
^ Turn OFF all of the vehicle's electrical consumers.
1. Connect Star Diagnosis to vehicle.
2. Check variant coding in TPM (RDK) control module: Control units/Chassis RDK tire pressure control/Control unit adaptations/new menu item Check coding of national version.
Note:
When selecting the new menu item, the national coding of the CGW [ZGW] is compared with the NHTSA coding (enabled or disabled) stored in the TPM [RDK]-SG in the background.
3. With faulty coding, the screen above (Figure 2) is shown. By pressing the F2 button, the coding is automatically corrected in the background.

^ Please be aware that only the part number(s) referenced in the Campaign Bulletin is/are approved for use to repair the vehicle Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign Accordingly warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied
