GF54.30-P-0004-02SXC Cockpit Central Display, Networking Of Components

Component Identification:

Information flow from cockpit switch group to MMI
^ The signals from the cockpit switch group are read in by the upper control panel control unit via the upper control panel LIN
^ The upper control panel control unit places the signals on the interior CAN.
^ The central gateway control unit receives the signals on the interior CAN and places them on the central CAN.
^ The COMAND controller unit reads the signals from the central CAN and places them on the telematics CAN.
^ The COMAND display reads in the signals from the telematics CAN and actuates the screen display accordingly.

Information flow from rain/light sensor to MMI
^ The rain/light sensor measures the light intensity, converts this into a digital value and passes on the signals discretely to the overhead control panel control unit
^ The overhead control panel control unit reads in the signals and places them on the interior CAN.
^ The central gateway control unit receives the signals on the interior CAN and places them on the central CAN.
^ The COMAND controller unit reads the signals from the central CAN and actuates the COMAND display via a Low Voltage Differential Signal (LVDS) interface.

Information flow from multifunction steering wheel (MFL) to MMI
^ The left multifunction steering wheel button group, right multifunction steering wheel button group, "Back" and SBS off button and the VCS [SBS] on button of the multifunction steering wheel are read in by the steering column module via the steering LIN.
^ The steering column module places the signals from the MFL on the chassis CAN.
^ The central gateway control unit receives the signals on the chassis CAN and places them on the central CAN.
^ The instrument cluster reads the signals from the central CAN, combines them with the respective system selected in the multifunction display (A1p13) and places the combined signals on the central CAN again.
^ The COMAND controller unit reads in the signals from the central CAN and processes them according to their function

Information flow from hands-free system microphone group to MMI
^ The hands-free system microphone group is on the top of the inside rearview mirror unit (A67) and is read in discretely by the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit.
^ The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit processes the signals and places them on the MOST.
^ The COMAND controller unit reads in the signals from MOST and processes them according to their function

Information flow from COMAND controller unit to COMAND display
The displays and menu representation of the operating and information windows relevant to the user are transferred from the COMAND controller unit via an LVDS connection digitally to the COMAND display and displayed there.
