Safety refrigerant R134a is colorless and odorless.

At normal temperatures it is neither toxic nor flammable, and will not explode in the air, no matter what its mixing ratio.

Use refrigerant R134a only in refrigeration systems intended for this purpose and approved for refrigerant.

The refrigerant R134a must not be mixed with other refrigerants (e.g. R12).

Because refrigerant R134a does not contain chlorofluorohydrocarbons (CFCs), at normal temperatures it does not pose a threat to the environment or to the earth's protective ozone layer, both considerable assets relative to conventional refrigerant gases.

Nevertheless, the refrigerant should be evacuated only with approved evacuation, processing and charging equipment with integral disposal and reprocessing capabilities.
