- with CODE (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA [EDW] only) [models 216.371, 221.1]
- except CODE (413) Panoramic glass roof with top sliding roof

Workshop Equipment:

1. Remove installation frame (6) from old headliner (1).
2. Detach wiring harness from rear area of old headliner (1) and lay down to side.
3. Saw through old headliner (1) approx. 5 cm in front of ultrasonic echo sounder sensor (7) cutout along marked cutting line.
4. Shim rear area of new headliner (1) with suitable spacers, e.g. foam material or Styrofoam blocks.
Do not use hard or sharp-edged objects to prevent damaging the new headliner cover (1).
The shims prevent the new headliner (1) from being bent or damaged during the following work steps.

5. Place cutting template (2) onto new headliner (1) and align.
6. Mark cutout for ultrasonic echo sounder sensor (7) on new headliner (1).
7. Remove cutting template (2) from new headliner (1).
8. Saw cutout for ultrasonic echo sounder sensor (7) out of new headliner (1).
Use metal saw blade, otherwise headliner (1) can be damaged.
Cut out within marked cutting line, otherwise the cutout for the ultrasonic echo sounder sensor (7) may be too large.

9. Turn new headliner (1) and insert installation frame (6) from bottom into new headliner (1).
10. Bend over retaining tabs of installation frames (6) with plastic mallet.
Support rear of installation frame (6) with suitable clean object, otherwise installation frame (6) can distort.
