GF82.20-P-5216LE Overhead Control Panel Control Unit, Component Description

GF82.20-P-5216LE Overhead Control Panel Control Unit, Component Description

Location
The overhead control panel control unit is located in the front section of the headliner.

The overhead control panel control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Control of systems
^ Voltage supply to components
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)

Direct line
The following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Automatic dimming interior rearview mirror sensor, forward (A67h1)
- Automatic dimming interior rearview mirror sensor, back (A67h2)
- Automatic mirror dimming (A67h3)
- Rain/light sensor (B38/2)
- Left rear dome lamp switch (E11/1s1) (for model 221)
- Right rear dome lamp switch (E11/2s1) (for model 221)
- Rear dome lamp switch
- Coat hook lamp switch (model 216)
- Door contact ON and OFF switch
- Front dome lamp switch
- Left front reading lamp switch
- Right front reading lamp switch Also with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof:
- Hall sensor 1, roof system (M12b1)
- Hall sensor 2, roof system (M12b2)
- Roof switch

The SOS switch (with code (359) TELE AID emergency call system) is located in the overhead control panel control unit housing. The emergency call system control unit (N123/4), however, supplies the voltage and reads in signals.

Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the overhead control panel control unit via the interior CAN.
The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Control of systems
The overhead control panel control unit actuates the following systems:
- Interior illumination (IBL)
- Tilting/sliding roof (SR)
(with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof)

Voltage supply to components
The following components are supplied with voltage by the overhead control panel control unit:
- Inside rearview mirror unit (A67)
- Garage door opener transmitter unit (A67n2) (with code (231) Garage door opener or code (232) Garage door opener with frequency 284-390 MHz)
- Rain/light sensor
- Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/6) via the left front vanity mirror illumination switch (S101)
- Right front vanity mirror illumination (E14/7) via the right front vanity mirror illumination switch (S102)
- Left rear vanity mirror illumination (E15/10) and Right rear vanity mirror illumination (E15/11) (model 221)

Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following connection:
^ Direct line

Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Left reading lamp (A67e1)
- Right reading lamp (A67e2)
- Ambient lamp (A67e3)
