AH86.10-P-0002-01A Notes on Preventing Damage to Emergency Fresh Air System on Special Protection Vehicles

Always observe instructions for using emergency fresh air system. Repair work with emergency fresh air system should only be carried out by trained skilled personnel. Observe applicable rules/guidelines.
Observe the following notes to prevent damaging the emergency fresh air system:
When working on compressed air bottle:
^ Wear protective clothing, ear protection, safety gloves, safety glasses and face mask.
When removing compressed air bottle:
^ Always first disconnect electrical connectors on compressed air bottle.
When installing compressed air bottle:
^ Position compressed air bottle at planned point in trunk and fasten with two pipe clamps equipped with rubber boots.
^ When installing air hose, moisten with pure water, slide completely onto connection fitting and fasten with hose clamp.
^ Ensure that all components are seated correctly.
When transporting and storing compressed air bottle:
^ Transport compressed air bottle so that it is not subject to shock and store so that it cannot tilt, fall down or change position.
^ Protective compressed air bottle against heat, chemicals and fire.
^ To carry, hold compressed air bottle below high pressure solenoid valve on bottleneck and bottom of bottle.
^ Maintain recommended storage temperature of -20 °C to +60 °C for compressed air bottle.
If compressed air bottle is damaged:
^ If compressed air bottle is damaged by shock from falling or similar, empty and have examined by DragerService.
^ Always drain compressed air bottle following contact with acids. Contact DragerService to clarify further procedure.
Filling compressed air bottle:
^ The compressed air bottle should only be filled by personnel authorized and instructed in handling high pressure respiratory equipment.
When repairing compressed air bottle:
^ If repair is required, contact DragerService.
Maintenance of emergency fresh air system:
^ Maintain required maintenance intervals.
