The routing diagram shows the routing diagram for maximum equipment. In vehicles which do not have the maximal equipment, the wiring harness branch-off lines not required are, if necessary, strapped down at other specified positions in the vehicle.

Driver footwell:
1 Remove drive train CAN voltage distributor connector (X30/21) upwards from air distributor (9c) and place to one side.
2 Remove left interior CAN/FFS [RBA] voltage distributor connector (X30/32) upwards from air distributor (9c) and place to one side.
3 Remove air ducts (9a, 9b).
4 Disconnect electrical connector under air distributor (9c) and remove air distributor (9c).
5 Unlock and open covers of cable ducts (10a).
6 Unlock and remove cable duct cover (10b).

In vehicles with code (582) Rear air conditioner, AC lines (11b) must be lifted to remove the cover of cable duct (10b). Do not damage AC lines (11b).
Driver footwell:
7 Remove retaining bars (10c) from cable ducts (10a, 10b).

Front passenger footwell and right rear legroom:
8 Remove right interior CAN/FFS [RBA] voltage distributor connector (X30/33) upwards from air distributor (12c) and place to one side.
9 Remove vehicle dynamics CAN voltage distributor connector (X30/28) upwards from air distributor (12c) and place to one side.
10 Remove air ducts (12a, 12b).
11 Disconnect electrical connector under air distributor (12c) and remove air distributor (12c).
12 Unlock and remove covers of cable ducts (13a, 13c).

In vehicles with code (582) Rear air conditioner, AC lines (14b) must be lifted to remove the cover of cable duct (13a). Do not damage AC lines (14b).
Front passenger footwell and right rear legroom:
15 Remove retaining bars (13d) from cable ducts (13a, 13b, 13c)

Right rear legroom and front passenger footwell:
16 Position rental vehicle wiring harness (7) at on-board wiring harnesses, aligning them using the yellow (ge) length comparison markings as per picture, route in the cable duct and fix in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
17 Route rear section of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) through the opening in the body (see arrow A) in the area of the right rear seat.
Some of the section of the rental vehicle wiring harness (7) will be routed further into the luggage compartment later on.
18 Route branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in the cable duct on the center tunnel as per picture.
The branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) will be routed further into the driver footwell on the center tunnel later on.
19 Route remaining branch-off lines of the front section of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) into the front passenger footwell (see arrow B).
Right rear legroom and front passenger footwell:
20 Contact black, 2-pin coupling with brown (br) and brown/red (br/rt) line of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in a free slot of the right interior CAN/FFS [RBA] voltage distributor connector (X30/33).
21 Position orange/gray length comparison markings of brown (br) and brown/red (br/rt) lines so that they exactly cover the orange/gray length comparison markings on the on-board wiring harnesses (see arrow A) and fix lines in place at onboard wiring harnesses.
22 Connect cable lug of brown ground lines (br) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) to ground (right front seat crossmember) (W19).
23 Position black/violet length comparison markings of the brown ground lines (br) so that they exactly cover the black/violet length comparison markings of the on-board wiring harnesses (see arrow B) and fix ground line in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
Front passenger footwell:
24 Route rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in the front passenger footwell cable duct as per picture, position orange length comparison markings of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) so that they exactly cover the orange length comparison markings of the on-board wiring harnesses (see arrow) and fix rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
25 Unlock cover of cable duct (15) (see arrow in enlarged detail) and open.
The cable duct (15) can be fully opened.
26 Route rental vehicle wiring harness (7) with branch-off lines (7b, 7c, 7d) through cable duct (15) as per picture.
The rental vehicle wiring harness (7) must be routed underneath the on-board wiring harness (16) for the right instrument panel fuse box (F1/6) (see arrow).
27.1 If no mirror taximeter or two-way radio microphone is installed
- Route branch-off line (7c) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in the cable duct (15) going back to the front passenger footwell cable duct as per picture, laying it in a loop in the front passenger footwell cable duct, and fix in place.
The length of field of the loop must be at least 200 mm to comply with electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
27.2 If a mirror taximeter and/or a two-way radio microphone is installed
- At first, position branch-off line (7c) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in front passenger footwell.
Branch-off line (7c) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) will be installed later on.
28.1 If no roof sign lamp bracket is installed
- Lay branch-off line (7d) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) to form a loop as per picture and fix in place within the cable duct (15).
The length of field of the loop must be at least 150 mm to comply with electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
28.2 If a roof sign lamp bracket is installed
- First position branch-off line (7d) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in front passenger footwell.
Branch-off line (7d) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) will be installed later on.
29 Close cover of cable duct (15).
Component Identification:
30 Detach insulation (34c) from the glove compartment (34a) in area where the hole (34b) is to be drilled.
Insulation (34c) will be fixed in place again later on.
31 Drill a hole (34b) with a diameter of 32 mm in glove compartment (34a) as per the dimensions.
32 Guide branch-off line (7b) of rental vehicle wiring harness through the hole drilled in the glove compartment (34a) and seal with grommet (6).
33 Fix insulation (34c) again on glove compartment (34a).
34 Position branch-off line (7b) of rental vehicle wiring harness in the glove compartment (34a) as per picture.
Component Identification:
35 After installing the glove compartment (34a), position branch-off line (7b) of rental vehicle wiring harness in a loop as per picture and fix in place.
Center tunnel and driver footwell:
36 Route branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness via the center tunnel into the driver footwell cable duct and fix in place.
37 Position white/red length comparison markings of branch-off line (7e) of rental vehicle wiring harness so that they exactly cover the white/red length comparison markings of the on- board wiring harnesses (see arrow) and fix branch-off line (7e) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
38 Position blue couplings of branch-off line (7e) for credit card reader and printer (A50/2) on the center tunnel as per picture and fix in place.

39 Position white length comparison markings of branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness so that they exactly cover the white length comparison markings of the on-board wiring harnesses (see arrow) and fix branch-off line (7a) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
Driver footwell:
40 On vehicles with code (610) Night view assist
- Remove Night View Assist control unit (N101) from the A-pillar at bottom left and swivel to the side (do not disconnect electrical connectors).
41 Remove noise insulation (19) from A-pillar at bottom left.
42 Remove foam material (17) from cable duct in driver door.
43 Route branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness in the driver footwell along on-board wiring harnesses as per picture and fix in place.
If an emergency alarm system activate button is installed, the emergency alarm system/trigger button connector (X42/8) will be contacted with the emergency alarm system activate button later on.
If no emergency alarm system activate button is installed, the emergency alarm system/trigger button connector (X42/8) must be strapped down.
44 Route left front door and FFS [RBA] connector (X35/1) of branch-off line (7a) from the driver footwell through boot (18) into the driver door using an aid (e.g. a plastic vacuum line) and fix in place.
45 Install noise insulation (19) in A-pillar at bottom left.
46 Install foam material (17) in cable duct in driver door.
47 On vehicles with code (610) Night view assist
- Screw Night View Assist control unit (N101) to A-pillar at bottom left.
Driver door:
48 Contact black coupling (20a) of on-board speaker wiring harness (20b) with taxi two-way radio speaker (H6).
49 Connect black coupling of branch-off line (7a) of rental vehicle wiring harness with black connector of taxi two-way radio speaker wiring harness (21) to left front door and FFS [RBA] connector (X35/1).
50 Secure left front door and FFS [RBA] connector (X35/1) above the left front door control unit (N69/1).
51 Fix taxi two-way radio speaker wiring harness (21) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
52 Reinstall retaining bars and covers of cable ducts, air distributor, air ducts and CAN distributor by completing steps 1 to 15 in reverse order.
Right rear legroom:
53 Connect appropriate blue coupling for two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) in the rental vehicle wiring harness (7) to the blue connector for the two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) in the rental vehicle wiring harness (7).
If the two-way radio (A49) is installed in the luggage compartment, the blue coupling for the two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) labeled "Two-way radio, luggage compartment/RA" must be connected to the blue connector for the two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) labeled "Two way radio speaker/radio" .
If the two-way radio (A49) is installed in the glove compartment, the blue coupling for the two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) labeled "Two-way radio, glove compartment/RA" must be connected to the blue connector for the two-way radio speaker separation point (X1/45) labeled "Twoway radio speaker/radio" .
Right rear seat backrest:
54 Open cable duct (8).
55 Guide remaining branch-off lines of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) through the opening in the body (see arrow B) into the luggage compartment.
56 Route rental vehicle wiring harness (7) along on-board wiring harnesses as per picture, position yellow length comparison markings of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) over yellow length comparison markings of on-board wiring harnesses (see arrow A) and fix rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
57 Route rental vehicle wiring harness (7) along on-board wiring harnesses to special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]) (N26/9) as per picture.
58 Position green, brown and yellow length comparison markings of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) over green, brown and yellow length comparison markings of on-board wiring harnesses (see arrows A, B, C) and fix rental vehicle wiring harness (7) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
If an emergency alarm system cancel button is installed, the connector for the emergency alarm system cancel button (S62/5) of branch-off line (7g) will be contacted with the emergency alarm system activate button later on.
If no emergency alarm system cancel button is installed, branch-off line (7g) with the connector for the emergency alarm system cancel button (S62/5) must be strapped down at on-board wiring harnesses.
59 Fasten cable lug of red line (rt) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) to vehicle power supply control unit (N82/1) with a torque of Nm.
60 Fasten taxi power supply fuse box 1 (F5/1) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) at on-board wiring harnesses using cable ties as per picture.
61 Connect black coupling (22) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) to special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]) (N26/9).
The rental vehicle wiring harness (7) must be routed downwards in a loop in front of black coupling (22) (see arrow D).
62 Route branch-off line (7f) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) along ground line (23a) into the spare tire well.
63 Position orange length comparison marking of branch-off line (7f) of rental vehicle wiring harness (7) so that it is exactly aligned with wiring harness bracket (23b) of ground line (23a) (see arrow in enlarged detail) and fix branch-off line (7f) in place at on-board wiring harnesses.
In vehicles with COMAND APS (with navigation system) (527) and/or in vehicles in which a two-way radio antenna (A2/49a3) is installed on the vehicle roof, the strapped-down GPS antenna line (24a) of branch-off line (7f) will be installed later on.
In vehicles without COMAND APS (with navigation system) (527), in which no two-way radio antenna (A2/49a3) is installed on the vehicle roof, the strapped-down GPS antenna line (24a) of branch-off line (7f) must be strapped down to the on-board wiring harnesses next to the battery.
