Potential risks

Risk of death
If pressurized gas cylinders or their valves are damaged, parts could fly around like projectiles and cause life threatening or deadly injuries.

Risk of injury
There is a danger of frostbite injuries to skin and body parts caused by "breathing gas" streaming out under high pressure and contact with components near the valve.

Risk of injury
There is a risk of injury to skin and body parts, especially to eyes and ears caused by "breathing gas" streaming out under high pressure and from dirt and parts being blown around.

Safety precautions/instructions
- Maintenance and repair work on pressurized gas cylinders may only be carried out by specially trained personnel.
- Do not attempt to eliminate icing on pressurized gas cylinders using a flame or glowing object.
- Wear protective clothing, ear protection, safety gloves, safety glasses and face mask.
- Keep work areas clean and free of loose parts.
- Maintain a suitable distance from where the gas exits on the pressurized gas cylinders.

First aid measures
^ Do not rub frostbitten areas of skin. Instead, pour large amounts of lukewarm water over them.
^ Flush dirt out of eyes with water, if necessary consult a physician.
