AN82.60-P-0016-03SX Retrofit Media Interface Power Supply Wiring Harness
Component Identification:
Component Identification:
1 Connect black 2-pin coupling for optical fiber (3) to media interface control unit (N125/1).
2 Connect black 8-pin coupling (2) to media interface control unit (N125/1).
3 Route media interface wiring harness (A) to right footwell ground (W15/1).
The media interface wiring harness (A) consists of the optical fibers of the brown line (br), the orange line and the red/blue line.
4 Connect brown line (br) to right footwell ground (W15/1).
5 Carefully press right front floor covering (12) to one side and route media interface wiring harness (A) with optical fibers of orange line and red/blue line in slot of COMAND controller unit.
6 Form a loop with excess length of media interface wiring harness (A) in front passenger footwell and fix in place with cable tie.
Do not kink optical fibers and do not route them over sharp edges or in radii smaller than 25 mm, as otherwise the quality of the data transfer will be affected.
7 Position footrest (13) and tighten using nuts (14).
8 Fold forward right front floor covering (15).
9 Remove black 2-pin coupling (8) of vehicle's own optical fiber from black 22-pin coupling (17).
10 Remove blue fuse (16) from black 2-pin coupling (8).
11 Remove optical fiber 1 (4.1) from input contact cavity (arrow C) of black 2-pin coupling (8).
Observe arrows on coupling (8).
12 Remove cover (18) at optical fiber 3 (5.1) of media interface wiring harness, install optical fiber 3 (5.1) in input contact cavity (arrow C) of black 2-pin coupling (8) and install blue fuse (16) in black 2-pin coupling (8).
The optical fiber 3 (5.1) was marked with an arrow (arrow B) in accordance with the signal flow when preparing the media interface wiring harness.
The arrow on the input contact cavity (arrow C) of the black 2-pin coupling (8) and the arrow (arrow B) previously made on the optical fiber 3 (5.1) must point in the same direction.
13 Install optical fiber 1 (4.1) removed from black 2-pin coupling (8) in adapter (9) contained in delivery contents.
14 Install optical fiber 4 (5.2) of media interface wiring harness in adapter (9) and lock adapter (9).
15 Remove protective sheaths (19) from optical fiber 1 (4.1) and attach on optical fiber 3 (5.1).
16 Install black 2-pin coupling (8) in black 22-pin coupling (17).
17 Connect orange line for wake-up signal (or) of media interface wiring harness with potential distributor (20) to orange line (21) of vehicle wiring harness.
The orange line (21) is located in contact cavity "9" of the black 22-pin coupling (17).
18 Remove cover (23).
19 Pull left front floor covering (22) carefully to one side and route red/blue line for power supply (rt/bl) in driver footwell as shown.
20 Align left front floor covering (22).
21 Wrap red/blue line for power supply (rt/bl) with felt tape over a length of 1000 mm, beginning at blue fuse carrier.
22 Remove screws/bolts (24) of left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7) and place left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7) to one side with electrical lines connected.
23 Route red/blue line for power supply (rt/bl) along vehicle wiring harness to left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7) and fix in place with cable tie.
24 Insert blue fuse carrier (10) in slot "100" of left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7).
25 Form a loop with excess length of red/blue line for power supply (rt/bl) and fix in place with cable tie (25) at vehicle wiring harness.
26 Position left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7) and tighten with screws/bolts (24).
27 Install cover (23).
