GF54.65-P-5001LEA PARKTRONIC Control Unit Component Description
- with CODE (230) Advanced Parking Guidance
- with CODE (220) PARKTRONIC

Component Identification:

Location
The PTS control unit is located behind the panel in the right luggage compartment.

Task
The PTS control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
Input factors are read in by means of the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B) (via central gateway control unit (N93))
^ Chassis CAN (CAN E)
^ Central CAN (CAN F) (via central gateway control unit)
^ Front end CAN (CAN G) (via central gateway control unit)

Direct line
The following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Outer left front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/1)
- Center left front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/2)
- Inner left front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/3)
- Inner right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/4)
- Center right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/5)
- Outer right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/6)
- Outer right rear PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/7)
- Inner right rear PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/8)
- Inner left rear PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/9)
- Outer left rear PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/10)

Interior CAN
The signals from the following control units are transmitted to the central gateway control unit via the interior CAN and from there passed on to the PTS control unit via the chassis CAN:
- Trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) (on model 221.0/1 with code (550) Trailer hitch)
- Overhead control panel control unit (N70)
- Upper control panel control unit (/)N72/1

Chassis CAN
Signals from the following components are received by the PTS control unit via the chassis CAN:
- Regenerative braking system control unit (N30/6) (on model 221.095/195)
- ESP control unit (N47-5) (without model 221.095/195)
- ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (on gasoline engine)
- CDI control unit (N3/9) (on diesel engine)
- The ETC {EGS] control unit (N15/3) is read in by the ME-SFI control unit or CDI control unit via the drive train CAN (with transmission 722.6)
- The fully integrated transmission control unit (VGS) (Y3/8n4) is read in by ME-SFI control unit or CDI control unit via the drive train CAN (with transmission 722.9)
- Steering column module (N80)

Central CAN
The signals from the following control units are transmitted to the central gateway control unit via the central CAN and from there passed on to the PTS control unit via the chassis CAN:
- Instrument cluster (A1)
- COMAND controller unit (A40/3)

Front end CAN
The signals from the electric parking brake controller unit (A13) are transmitted to the central gateway control unit via the front end CAN and from there passed on to the PTS control unit via the chassis CAN.

Evaluating input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components
Components are actuated by means of the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (via central gateway control unit)
^ Central CAN (via central gateway control unit)

Direct line
The following components are actuated by the PTS control unit via a direct line:
- Outer left front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Center left front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Inner left front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Inner right front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Center right front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Outer right front PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Outer right rear PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Inner right rear PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Inner left rear PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Outer left rear PTS ultrasonic sensor
- Rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3)

Interior CAN
The following components are actuated via the interior CAN:
- Function LED in PTS OFF switch (S6/2s12) via the upper control panel control unit

The signals are read in by the central gateway control unit via the chassis CAN and passed on to the upper control panel control unit via the interior CAN.

Central CAN
The following components are actuated via the central CAN:
- Warning indicator in instrument cluster

The signals are read in by the central gateway control unit via the chassis CAN and passed on to the instrument cluster via the central CAN.
