GF82.70-P-0004-05SX Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) Cellular Phone Subscriber To Cellular Phone Subscriber
- with CODE (494) USA version
- with CODE (387) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system, USA/Canada
Component Identification:
Cellular phone subscriber to cellular phone subscriber
Cellular phone subscriber A (A) has logged into the mobile telephone network outside the reception range of his/her Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC), and cellular phone subscriber B (B) has logged into the mobile telephone network outside the reception range of his/her Mobile Service Switching Center, in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B)). They are then logged in over the most favorably located Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and Base Station Controller (BSC) into the closest Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) or Mobile Service Switching Center (in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B)) and registered in its Home Location Register (HLR). The Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) is then automatically connected with the responsible Mobile Service Switching Center (in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B)) and informs it about the current location of the cellular phone subscriber A (and vice versa).
The location of cellular phone subscriber A and cellular phone subscriber B is then registered in the Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) and in the Mobile Service Switching Center (in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B)). If cellular phone subscriber A now wishes to set up a call to cellular phone subscriber B, he/she enters the telephone number of subscriber B.
This telephone number can be used to determine the location of cellular phone subscriber B from his/her Mobile Service Switching Center (in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B)). With this location information, the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) system then routes the call from cellular phone subscriber A over the most favorable transmission path to cellular phone subscriber B. Also during a phone call, the UPCI [UHI] system automatically searches for the most favorable transmission path to minimize losses.
The transmission path in the mobile telephone network consists of the following:
^ Portable CTEL (A34/6)
^ Base Station Controller (BSC)
^ Base Transceiver Station (BTS)
^ Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC)
^ Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) or Mobile Service Switching Center (in which (B) is registered) (MSC (B))
